HBO’s Game of Thrones:
Ascend the Wall
We partnered with HBO and the Academy-award-winning team at Framestore to create a first-of-its-kind immersive virtual reality experience— taking viewers inside the world of the blockbuster TV series Game of Thrones.
The result? A new template for storytelling with cutting-edge tech, and a bold demonstration in how narrative experiences can create life-changing impressions.
Making Westeros feel real
Using Oculus Rift VR headsets, a custom Unity environment, Oscar-winning VFX, wind machines, and floor rumble packs, we transported audiences inside the world of Westeros in Game of Thrones.
If all your senses are telling you it’s real… is it?
Starting in the winch elevator at Castle Black, fans ascend the series' famous ice wall—all 700 ft of it, going faster and faster.
At the top, fans walk across and look out into “wildling" territory. That’s when the attack begins…
A new kind of storytelling
We pioneered an entirely new experience. With photo-realistic CGI, visceral storytelling that puts the fan squarely in the heart of the action, and all five senses being tricked, it’s the first time you can actually step inside the world of your favorite TV show.
And the most exciting thing? This is just the beginning. We’ve only started to explore what we’re capable of doing with this new medium…

”There’s a brand installation at South by Southwest so immersive a woman momentarily thought on Friday morning she was going to die in it.”
